About Me

Personally

My name is Peter Downer and I live in Portsmouth (UK). I have lived in the UK all my life and most of it has been in the Portsmouth Area.

Last year I graduated from Portsmouth University with a Post Graduate Diploma in HRM. I am now taking a hiatus from academic study and hoping to hone and develop my professional skills in HRM. I currently work at Portsmouth City Council as an HR Officer.

I am married (23 years!) and still say that was the best decision I ever made.

Interests and Hobbies

My interests include Photography, Computers, Photography ON Computers, genealogy and my family. I have long been interested in photography and I am now learning to embrace all things digital, including video.

Computers have revolutionised photography and as they have become more powerful and more affordable they have become almost indispensible. They have brought once complex processes to the masses, but don't be fooled, it still cannot turn a bad photograph into a good one! I am now getting used to my newest photographic challenge, learning to use my Digital SLR.

I am also trying to rekindle my attempts to learn to play the guitar, good fun but I won't give up the day job.
